Round 3 saw us heading to Guildford to take on Banbridge 3.
We got off to a fantastic start, taking a 5-goal lead in the first quarter, with some lovely feeds into Elizabeth and Ruth in the shooting circle.
The second quarter saw us continue to build on our lead, increasing the pressure and extending the gap.
Banbridge came out strongly in the third quarter and put us under pressure. A few lapses in concentration and passing errors allowed them to narrow the gap to 9 goals. Then, in the final seconds of the third quarter, Eileen went down with an ankle injury and had to leave the court. 💙
Chloe stepped up brilliantly, moving into GD in the final quarter alongside Sarah in GK, and together they maintained the pressure and worked tirelessly to keep Banbridge at bay.
Our shooters, Ruth and Elizabeth, were also battling through tiredness, with Elizabeth limited by injury, but they continued to fight for every goal.
It was a tough final quarter, but the team dug deep, showed tremendous resilience and held onto the lead to get over the line!
A hard-fought win that showed plenty of character, determination and teamwork. ❤️💙
